At the end of 2002 car show season Bob Chabot and Geoff Ferber, (co-founding partners of Mobile Event Radio.) took a long look at some of the larger events and car shows that they had attended and produced for the last several years. They came to the realization that all events had the same problems. After the gates opened the promoters of an event had no way of communicating with attendees, vendors, or anyone else. There really wasn’t a good way to communicate. Yes, one can string wire over the entire event area and then bring in a PA system with a DJ but this takes a lot of equipment, labor, time and money, not to mention the insurance liability factor. You could hire a herd of DJ’s but then everyone had their own idea as to how the event should be paced, along with what kind of music they wanted, not to mention the sound levels and what level they set there speakers up. Most DJ’s couldn’t even read a script. Hence, a new idea was born…Mobile Event Radio. After a major robbery in July of 2011 Mobile Event Radio replaced all of its electronic equipment with new state of the art broadcast equipment. Now the sound quality is even clearer and stronger than prior to the robbery. So, MER's clients thank the crooks, as the newer and better Big Yellow Truck continues to roll down the road smiling with its happy clients.

MER would like to "Welcome" the Mopar Club of San Diego and the Pontiac Club of San Diego. This past year in November they invited the Big Yellow Truck to their annual event in Seaport Village at the Embarcadero Park North. Next year's "All American Pow Wow" event is already booked for the third Sunday in November once again on the 20th. The BYT will again be returning April 15th to "Motor Cars on Main Street" in Coronado, CA. April 27th the BYT rolls into Lakeside's "Western Day Parade." July 7th we return to the "Cops & Rodders" car show at Point Loma's Liberty Station in San Diego, CA. July 27th the Big Yellow Truck will help to celebrate Christmas during the summer with the annual MCRD car show, "Wounded Warriors Toys for Kids". During the fall season the BYT can be seen at "Pal Joey's Best Damn Car Show" edition #5, "Alpine Days Parade" and the yearly "Mother Goose Parade". In both parades we deploy several wireless speaker towers. In fact those who watched the two parades said it was like watching 'Live' TV in person with all the interviews and info on the floats and participants. If you have an event that requires total sound support throughout the venue you can contact us for a quote. Please check MER's event, "Calendar" for open dates. We also help support charitable events. |
